About Sam Park (He/Him):
Representative Sam Park was the first Asian American Democrat and openly gay man to be elected to the Georgia State Legislature in 2016. Since then, he has been a strong advocate for immigrants, communities of color, and all Georgia families. As a champion for economic growth and opportunities for all Georgians, Rep. Park is committed to improving the quality of life for his constituents through education, government support, healthcare, and much more.
Representative Park is a Korean American and a Georgia native. He attended Georgia State University, where he earned a B.A. in Political Science and B.S. in Economics, and then he went on to receive a JD from Georgia State University, and obtained a Masters in Law, Politics, and Legislation from the Washington College of Law at American University. After his mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer, Rep. Park was inspired to run for office; his mom was able to live her final years without pain and in peace because she had access to healthcare. Through this experience, Rep. Park learned that access to quality healthcare was a matter of life or death, and no Georgian should ever have to live through that struggle. Rep. Park’s mom was able to see her son live out his dream and become the first Asian American Democrat and openly gay man elected to the Georgia State Legislature.

He has authored, co-sponsored, and voted on legislation to foster economic growth by investment in transit and education to address problems that his constituents face. Rep. Park is a champion of fighting for Georgians’ rights to livable wages, COVID-19 relief, ethical voting practices, and so much more.
Since his election in 2016, Representative Park has been a strong advocate for Asian Americans and immigrants. Rep. Park has worked diligently to prohibit discrimination against communities of color in employment, housing, and public accommodations. Representative Sam Park is a committed champion for our communities.
