AAAF is building joyful, people-powered civic energy across Georgia by bringing Asian American and Pacific Islander communities together to connect, learn, and take action. You can jump in by volunteering at events, helping reach voters, or joining training and as you show up and grow with us, there’s an exciting opportunity to become a member, shaping endorsements, participating in accountability work, and stepping into leadership. However you start, you’re not just helping out, you’re helping build lasting power for our communities.
Become a member
Becoming a member means being part of the active community that powers AAAF’s work. Membership is how we show up for one another: volunteering at events, connecting with voters, participating in civic conversations, and helping move our priorities forward. Being a AAAF member is about a shared commitment to building community, taking action, and growing our collective impact together across Georgia.
Stay involved with your community through the Asian American Advocacy Fund! As we approach 2026, we will have many volunteer opportunities.
What Kind of volunteer opportunities does AAAF have?
The Asian American Advocacy Fund is committed to providing any training and support needed to ensure your volunteering experience is enjoyable and informative. The following are examples of volunteer opportunities that pop up during the year but are not exhaustive.
Events & Activations
Join us in supporting AAAF programming throughout the year. We host a variety of community events, from potlucks to townhalls and a multitude of educational events. planning support, tabling, day-of logistics to promotion. If you’re interested in on-the-ground activations, represent AAAF at rallies, marches and speak-outs.
Political & Legislative Advocacy
Political and legislative advocacy is the beating heart of AAAF. Join us during legislative session by taking to the Capitol with testimony, days of advocacy, and legislative trainings. Demand accountability from our lawmakers through petitions and other online actions.
Canvass & Phonebank
Join AAAF on the ground and be part of the energy that moves our communities forward, during and beyond election season. When elections are underway, you’ll help power real change by phonebanking and canvassing for AAAF-endorsed candidates and key issues, making sure AAPI voters are informed, engaged, and heard. And outside the election cycle, you’ll build deeper connections through meaningful conversations with community members about the issues that matter most to them.
All training will be provided by AAAF, and you will be accompanied by AAAF staff so you can hit the ground running with confidence!
Ethnic Community Liaison
Ethnic Community Liaisons help strengthen AAAF’s relationships in the diverse AAPI communities across Atlanta. Be a trusted connector between AAAF and your community by sharing information about AAAF’s programs and civic opportunities, uplifting concerns and priorities, and helping ensure our work reflects the full range of cultures, languages, and experiences in Georgia. When needed, use your native language proficiency to interpret on behalf of your community and translate documents, flyers and mail.
Liaisons play a key role in building authentic, two-way relationships that deepen trust, expand participation, and grow collective civic power.
Artivism
AAAF uses art to move communities into action, educate communities about current issues and amplify marginalized voices through personal stories. Art also allows us to celebrate our resilience and accomplishments while dreaming and planning for the future that we want.
Join us in this work through our story telling and story sharing initiatives, planning and launching art auctions and events. If you’re an artist, share your talent and your story with us across multiple mediums- create murals, write poetry, make films, etc.
Rapid Response
AAAF is on the ground with communities across Georgia. As urgent needs arise, spring into action as needed. Join us in moving from community care into coordinated action when it matters most, participate in direct actions like rallies and marches. We’d also love artists and cultural practitioners (drummers and other musicians) to join in this work.
Rapid response opportunities will be shared with all AAAF volunteers as they arise.
