Advancing Justice-Atlanta and Asian American Advocacy Fund to Host Annual Asian American Advocacy Day with Communities, Organizations, and Legislators

Norcross, GA — On Tuesday, February 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Asian Americans Advancing Justice-Atlanta (Advancing Justice-Atlanta) and the Asian American Advocacy Fund (AAAF) will host the Annual Asian American Advocacy Day at the Atrium in Atlanta City Hall. Asian American Advocacy Day is designed to be a relationship-building opportunity for the Asian American community, allied communities, Georgia elected officials, and other policy makers.

Asian Americans are the fastest growing ethnic minority population in Georgia with one of the largest AAPI Caucuses in the nation. With our growing community, Advancing justice-Atlanta and AAAF have been at the frontlines fighting for legislation to improve the lives of Asian Americans and other communities of color. We work collaboratively with immigrant and civil rights groups to ensure that we stand united and work on issues that impact our communities. Asian American Advocacy Day will provide a space for our communities to show up and speak on the issues that matter the most. 

Several distinguished representatives and a senator from the Georgia AAPI Legislative Caucus are scheduled to attend (listed in alphabetical order):

  • Sen. Nabilah Islam 

  • Rep. Ruwa Romman 

The day will begin with a breakfast session at the Atrium in Atlanta City Hall (55 Trinity Ave SW, Atlanta, GA 30303) at 7:30 AM. Attendees will have the opportunity to take a picture at the state capitol at 10:00AM, and lobbying will start afterward.
