Yterenickia “YT” Bell has been an advocate in her community for many years. Additionally, as a Councilwoman, YT has cultivated a proven record of prioritizing the needs of her constituents. She is a results driven leader whose passion for improving Clarkstonians’ lives was realized with the city’s first-ever voter registration drive hosted with Disability Links, a Multicultural Mental Health Fair, and the establishment of the Clarkston Complete Count Committee, the first 2020 U.S. Census committee and task force in Dekalb County.

YT is a passionate leader we proudly endorse for her unwavering commitment to equity, housing justice, and community-centered governance. She has led on transformative initiatives, from passing non-discrimination legislation to creating Georgia’s first-ever tiny home ordinance, while working to reimagine police and safety in Clarkston. She also championed the hiring of Clarkston’s first social worker to directly address residents’ needs. Grounded, accessible, and empathetic, she chooses to live in an apartment alongside her constituents to better understand and serve them.
