Rebekah Cohen Morris
Doraville • District 2
Rebekah is running for Doraville City Council because she believes that local government is one of the most powerful ways that individuals can serve and impact their communities. A child of an immigrant, Rebekah has spent her life dedicated to working in under-resourced neighborhoods in which she lives. Rebekah has taught high school for almost 10 years in both Gwinnett and DeKalb Counties, and she has worked to involve her students and neighbors in community advocacy, leading to the creation of a local non-profit, Los Vecinos de Buford Highway. She has served on several non-profit boards, and she continues to be a strong advocate for housing affordability and immigrants' rights. Her vision for Doraville includes exploring ways to improve housing, including a wider variety of housing styles. She also supports plans to create city-wide connectivity.
