More about Rebecca:
Rebecca is a public health expert, scientist, veterinarian, advocate, organizer, and mother. Rebecca lives in Snellville with her children and husband. She grew up on a sheep farm in Upstate New York, and at a young age, learned the value of working hard and having dependents.
Like many residents of Gwinnett, Rebecca grew up in a community that was a blend of local workers and commuters to the metro area. District 106 consists of Grayson, Lawrenceville, Loganville, and Snellville, which have a large Latinx, Black, and growing AAPI community.
Rebecca has a Veterinary degree and a doctorate in Epidemiology; she has had incredible opportunities to develop a scientific skill set and advocates for major public health improvements. She has proven to be a great help amid the COVID-19 public health crisis, and her scientific expertise is much needed in the Capitol.
The Asian American Advocacy Fund is proud to endorse Dr. Rebecca Mitchell for State House District 106. Rebecca has made an effort to understand the needs of our community. She has strong policies on criminal justice reform, strengthening public education, providing access to accessible public transit, and strengthening healthcare.
