Why we’re endorsing Marvin: 

Marvin Lim has experience understanding and advocating for issues impacting the marginalized and vulnerable. He is known for his work championing issues like gun safety and expanding voting rights alongside other Georgia State Representatives and advocates. As a Filipino American, Marvin understands the unique needs of the Asian American community and will work towards increasing opportunity for all immigrants across the State of Georgia. We’re excited to support Marvin for HD 99 because we know he will work hard to serve the needs of his district.  

More about Marvin: 

Marvin is a Filipino Immigrant who was a former recipient of public assistance. Now, he is an attorney who graduated from Yale Law School and is running for House District 99. This district consists of Lilburn and Norcross and is composed of over 85% minorities, 50% foreign-born, and 25% below poverty levels. This district includes a growing AAPI community, as well as many AAPI businesses. 

Marvin has a deep understanding of issues impacting the Asian American community in his district. He has previous advocacy experience at the Capitol and has an understanding of how things work. Previously, he championed issues specializing in religious freedom, LGBTQIA+ rights, women’s and reproductive rights, gun safety, and voting rights. 

Marvin is a proponent of equal opportunity and believes that factors like race, immigration, and socioeconomic or any other status should not hinder access to opportunities, including the right to healthcare. 

The Asian American Advocacy Fund is proud to endorse Marvin Lim for State House District 99. He not only reflects the constituency he is trying to represent, but he can understand and empathize with them.
