Rep. Gregg Kennard
GEORGIA STATE HOUSE, DISTRICT 102
ABOUT GREGG KENNARD:
Rep. Gregg Kennard has focused his first term in the State House of Representatives on addressing the needs of his constituents. He has fought for criminal justice reform, increasing economic opportunity, and improving education. Kennard understands that in order to make lasting change for all Georgians, we need leaders who are unafraid to use their voice to speak up for the most marginalized.
WHY WE’RE ENDORSING GREGG:
Since he was elected in 2018, Gregg Kennard has used his time in the State House of Representatives to advocate on behalf of all Georgians. He understands that every Georgian deserves access to quality education, economic opportunity, and a criminal justice system that holds all as equals under the law.
Rep. Kennard believes in expanding access to education, criminal justice reform, and economic mobility. In his first term in office, he has supported giving $3,000 raises to teachers, signed on to a bill to make technical colleges free, and worked to give tax credits to small investors and businesses. His work on criminal justice reform has paved the way for formerly incarcerated individuals to maintain a state ID, supports HB-403 which bans private prisons and jails, and authored HB-309, which restricts the criminal records for non-violent felonies after the sentence is completed.
Sending Rep. Kennard back to the State House is an opportunity for voters to have a champion for them in leadership who bases his policies on the lived realities of his constituents. Over one-third of all Georgians have a criminal record, and designing a re-entry system that facilitates rehabilitation and a fair chance at getting reestablished is to the benefit of everyone. Rep. Kennard will go back to the State House and continue advocating for common sense reforms that will help address the racial and socioeconomic disparities that have plagued Georgia and this country for decades. The Asian American Advocacy Fund is proud to endorse Rep. Kennard for District 102.
