ABOUT LISA CUPID:

Lisa has a proven track record and has used her time serving on the Cobb County Board of Commissioners to implement programs and policies that have a measurable impact on the daily lives of her constituents. As a commissioner, Lisa’s work expanding transit access, advocating for community-based policing reform, and bringing together small businesses and residents have proven that she is an effective leader. We know she will continue to serve Cobb County well as the next Chair of the County Commission.

WHY WE’RE ENDORSING LISA:

Lisa Cupid was elected in November 2012 to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners. Through her years as a Commissioner, she is recognized as a thoughtful leader. She has a people-centered vision that has led her to take an intersectional approach at negotiating land use cases. Lisa advocates for transparency, thoughtful spending, and community engagement and is pushing for greater support of the County’s Economic Development agency. She has creative solutions to improve and further develop transportation and small business infrastructure in Cobb.

As the next Chairwoman, Lisa will continue to work to address disparities that affect our communities along lines of race, gender, and socioeconomic status. Whether it’s healthcare, voting and civic engagement, housing, employment, Lisa will work to ensure every Georgian has an equal opportunity to succeed. Now more than ever, we need leaders who are willing to go to bat for historically underserved communities.

Lisa Cupid is the right choice for Cobb County Board of Commissioners Chair because she is a leader who has demonstrated a commitment to serve her constituents and invest in the needs of our communities. She has worked on infrastructure development, support for small businesses, and economic empowerment programs for the benefit of our communities. Lisa understands that in order to thrive our basic rights to safety, equity, and justice must be protected, and the Asian American Advocacy Fund is proud to endorse her!
