More about Sarah

Sarah Beeson is an Iranian-American, Roswell native, and a mother who operates a 50+ employee family business. She is a long-time advocate and serves as the Communications Chair for Advance Atlanta, a non-profit committed to expanding transit throughout the metro area. She also serves on the Leadership Council Member for the National Small Business Association. She has worked for the Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest LGBTQ advocacy group and completed terms of leadership within the Young Democrats of Georgia organization- including statewide president. Sarah’s top three priorities as a representative for her community are to increase access to affordable healthcare, improve the quality of public education, and expand public transit. Sarah is supportive of expanding Medicaid to better support women, children, seniors, and the disabled. Moreover, she is vocal about improving the quality of maternal healthcare, especially for women of color. In terms of education, Sarah believes in fully funding public education programs and compensating educators fairly. Furthermore, Sarah believes in providing Georgians with access to debt-free higher education, technical college, and resources to help prepare Georgians to enter the workforce. As someone who has a deep understanding of transit, Sarah recognizes the need to expand transit to improve physical and economic mobility and accessibility.

We believe that Sarah will continue to be a voice for the voiceless in the State Senate. Sarah advocates for the expansion of Medicaid, accessible transit, and affordable early childhood education serves as a key indication that her values are in line with what’s best for Asian American communities. Her background in working to serve LGBTQ+ and other marginalized groups are an excellent foundation for the kind of leader we need for our Georgia, and the Asian American Advocacy Fund is proud to endorse her!
