About Dr. Vickie benson (She/her):
Dr. Vickie Benson is an educator and author with diverse experience in teaching and school leadership roles for over 26 years in secondary and 10 years in postsecondary education. She has served in leadership roles for the Cobb Democratic Women, Cobb County Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse, and a nonprofit serving Cobb County students. Vickie is running for Cobb school board on a platform of supporting academic success for all students, prioritizing fiscal responsibility, and implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the school district.

Vickie supports advocating for a more inclusive school calendar for the Cobb School District and teachers' right to unionize. She is invested in creating opportunities for the local community to engage with the school board. She plans to establish an advisory committee for the school board made up of diverse stakeholders, including students, to represent their diverse needs. Additionally, she is an advocate against education bans on courses teaching about race and inclusive history.
