The Asian American Advocacy Fund Celebrates Cobb County Special Primary Runoff Election Win
ATLANTA – The Asian American Advocacy Fund (AAAF) is proud to celebrate the victory of Erick Allen in the Cobb County District 2 Special Primary Runoff Election. Allen’s win marks a step forward for the county, representing a path toward a more inclusive, equitable Cobb where all communities can thrive. This significant win underscores the community's commitment to progressive leadership and sets the stage for the upcoming Special General Election on April 29, 2025.
"Erick Allen’s victory is not just a win for District 2; it’s a win for every community member who believes in a Cobb County that prioritizes affordable housing, equitable healthcare access, and public transit," said Ashna Khanna, Executive Director of AAAF. "This is just the beginning of a larger movement toward true progress in Cobb."
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners holds significant influence over the day-to-day lives of residents, from local taxes to the allocation of funding for essential services such as public health and transportation. The decisions made by this board directly impact the lives of our diverse community members. As a champion for voting rights, reproductive justice, healthcare access, and environmental justice, Erick Allen has consistently demonstrated his commitment to policies that uplift all residents. His leadership offers a bold vision for a more equitable, accessible, and thriving Cobb County.
In this election, AAAF played a pivotal role in mobilizing voters, ensuring that underrepresented communities had the information and resources needed to participate. Through a robust field operation, digital engagement, and direct voter outreach, AAAF’s efforts were instrumental in driving turnout in District 2. Our work in both the primary and primary runoff included knocking on 5,313 doors, making 38,647 phone calls, and running an ad campaign that generated over 802,285 digital impressions. AAAF’s outreach efforts demonstrate the power of sustained engagement in strengthening civic participation.
"While today is a day to celebrate, our work is far from over," continued Khanna. This victory is just the first step. As we head into the special general election, we will continue to organize, educate, and mobilize voters to ensure Erick Allen crosses the finish line and delivers real change for Cobb County"
With the special general election just weeks away on April 29th, AAAF remains deeply committed to turning out the vote and ensuring that every Cobb County resident has a voice in shaping the future of their community.
